2022 President's Message
As these unprecedented times continue, we find ourselves surrounded by both opportunities and setbacks. Demand for remodeling services continues to be robust, while at the same time, supply chains and the labor force present tremendous operational constraints. In the face of such challenges, it is an exciting time to be part of NARI, an association where we can learn from and support each other as we navigate through these uncharted waters together.
This past year we transitioned from the dark days of the pandemic into what seemed like a more normal course of operations. We were able to resume NARI Nights for a good portion of the year, and the Brew Bash was held along with a successful golf tournament. Our crowning achievement was a sold-out and well-received CotY Awards Gala in November.
In addition to getting our business events back on track, NARI Cares was launched. Its inaugural event was a clothing drive for the Gateway and Donna centers. Thanks to the generosity of our members, thousands of clothing items were donated to these very worthwhile organizations.
This year I am looking forward to the Emerging Professionals Group (EPG) getting a bigger foothold. The EPG was created for NARI Atlanta members under 35 years old or within their first five years of working in the remodeling industry. One of my objectives this year is for our chapter to bring in younger people who are the future of our industry, and this is a great way to meet that goal.
While the start of 2022 has been jolted with another spike in the pandemic, there is hope that it will be short-lived. Our chapter has proven itself in the past to be very resilient, as evidenced by the strength of our 2021 membership and finances. 2022 is filled with promise and opportunity.
I look forward to seeing you at upcoming NARI events and wish you all a productive and prosperous year.
David Michelson
2021-2022 President
